This immunochemical test enables the qualitative detection of low levels of albumin in urine. While urine naturally contains small amounts of albumin, elevated albumin levels may indicate impaired kidney function. Conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and increased cardiovascular risk can also lead to higher urinary albumin concentrations.

Even a small amount of protein excretion in urine (microalbuminuria) can be clinically significant. Particularly in patients with diabetes or high blood pressure, microalbuminuria is often one of the earliest signs of kidney dysfunction. Early detection and treatment of kidney disease may help preserve kidney function for a longer period. Regular monitoring of urinary albumin supports the early identification of potential health risks.
