QuikRead go® easy CRP test is the easy-to-perform CRP test that delivers quantitative CRP test results within 2 minutes using the QuikRead go POCT analyzer.
The unique one-step sample collector used with the QuikRead go easy CRP, minimizes practical steps and enables quick and easy CRP testing. Measurement of CRP is useful in the clinical treatment of a patient with symptoms of an infection.
Quantitative measurement of the CRP has been reported as a sensitive indicator of the efficacy of antimicrobial therapy and the course of bacterial infections. In addition, an effective tool for controlling and monitoring postoperative infections. Modestly elevated CRP levels have been found to be clinically relevant, eg in neonatal sepsis and disorders that include systemic inflammation (such as COPD and rheumatoid arthritis).
CRP is normally present in very low blood levels in healthy people. CRP concentrations are markedly increased with bacterial infections, while viral infections usually lead to a very modest increase or none at all. In addition to the clinical signs, measuring CRP can therefore be a fundamental tool to distinguish bacterial infections from viral infections. The test can be easily performed during the consultation with the result being available within 2 minutes and can directly affect treatment.
Monitoring CRP levels also provides an objective way of assessing response to treatment.
