The ProFem®-Ring pessaries are available in many sizes:
(for hygienic reasons, pessaries whose packaging has been opened cannot be returned)
Pessary
The treatment of pelvic floor disorders with pessaries has been widely practiced in many cultures for centuries. Pessaries can be placed in the vagina as conservative therapy for prolapse and stress incontinence. The Profem range of pessaries are made from hypoallergenic medical grade silicone.
The success of pessary therapy primarily depends on the choice of the right pessary type and size. Before using a pessary, the medical condition can be examined by a specialist to rule out contraindications and possible risks. Ideally, the patient should be trained by the healthcare professional to self-insert and remove the pessary. ProFem supports healthcare professionals with unique fitting sets that are available for most types of pessaries.
Cleaning
It is recommended to remove and clean the pessary regularly, in consultation with your healthcare provider. Some types of pessaries may be used for a longer continuous period and a regular appointment schedule should be arranged with your healthcare provider.
Types of pessaries
There are many different types of vaginal pessaries with a proven track record in treating descensus and incontinence problems. The ProFem® pessaries offer a unique range of pessary types and sizes that allow largely individual adjustment and care. Some ProFem® pessaries are available as a version with an additional supporting membrane. These provide improved uterine support. The perforated versions allow for better drainage of secretions and easier removal of the pessary. The ProFem® cube pessary can be ordered with or without perforation if the healthcare provider requires stronger suction on the vaginal wall.
The ProFem® brand specialises in aids for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence disorders. The extensive range of high-quality pessaries allows for largely individual adaptation to the anatomy and indication of the patient in question. ProFem® pessaries are certified medical devices in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13485 and are CE marked.
Medical Trade is the distributor of Profem® in the Benelux and supplies to consumers, healthcare professionals, pharmacies, hospitals and other medical institutions.
