USE IT WITH

Loperamide 2 mg Sandoz contains loperamide hydrochloride, a substance that reduces excessive propulsive movements of the bowel. This reduces diarrhea. Usually loperamide diarrhea stops within hours. Loperamide can be used for acute and chronic diarrhea. It only addresses the symptom of the diarrhea and not the cause.

NOT TO BE USED WITH

• Allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine
• If the bowel movements should not be inhibited
• For stomach pain, high fever or blood in the stool
• For ulcerative colitis
• With an intestinal infection or inflammation
• In children under eight years of age

DOSAGE

Swallow the capsule whole with water or another drink

For acute diarrhea: take 2 capsules. Then take another capsule after each diarrhea. Never take more than 8 capsules in one day.

For chronic diarrhea: Start with 2 capsules. Increase or decrease the dose until you have solid stools once or twice a day. Also never take more than 8 capsules in one day.

For children from 8 years old, use 1 capsule and also take one capsule after each loose stool.

For adults, the maximum number of capsules that can be taken on a day is 8, for children 3 capsules per 20 kg (so a child weighing 45 kg can have a maximum of 6).

If there is no improvement after 48 hours, stop taking loperamide.

Never use loperamide for longer than 14 days in a row.
