Klepper & Klepper Volzoet is a licorice candy with sal ammoniac salt, licorice root extract and sugar. It is the result of 25 years of experience in the market, where Klepper Sr. had noticed that his bat drop became wet in humid weather conditions. Klepper Sr. and Klepper Jr. therefore tinkered with the recipe and decided that the gluten and gelatin had to be overhauled. The drying time was immediately adjusted and the licorice candy got its well-known bite. The result is a licorice with a full sweet taste that also has a bit of spice.
