Characteristics:
Stainless Steel Grade 410/420:
For medical instruments, only hardened, stainless steels (410/420) are usually sufficient. These steels meet the requirements with regard to: durability / wear resistance, corrosion resistance, firmness / stiffness and elasticity.
In the choice of materials for a specific instrument, a distinction is also made between cutting and non-cutting instruments. As a rule, the following can be stated: "For cutting instruments, hardener steel is used to increase durability / wear resistance. For non-cutting instruments, steel that is more elastic is often used. Especially with tweezers, elasticity is an essential property" .
Within the production, only high-quality materials are used that are tailored to the specific requirements of a relevant instrument. The used steel has been tested for composition / alloy by various laboratory tests.
