The Good-Lite E chart vision test is a translucent visual acuity chart designed for standardised vision testing at a distance of 3 metres. The chart features E optotypes in different orientations, with the patient indicating the direction in which the opening of the E is facing.
The E chart is particularly useful for patients who are unable to read or name letters and numbers. The patient only needs to recognise and indicate the direction of the E opening, such as up, down, left or right.
The translucent design allows the chart to be used in a suitable light box. Even illumination provides consistent testing conditions and supports standardised visual acuity assessment.
