The Venflon IV cannulas from BD (Becton Dickinson) are made from surgical steel and are recognised as among the best on the market. The bevelled needle design and tapered PTFE catheter tip make insertion easier and minimise the risk of vein damage. The cannula is suitable for administering bolus medication during infusion without requiring an additional needle puncture.
The cannula features BD InstaFlash™ technology. Thanks to a small opening in the needle, blood becomes immediately visible in the space between the needle and catheter, allowing the vein to be located more quickly. This increases first-attempt success rates (up to 85% compared to 79% with standard cannulas) and reduces the total cost per infusion placement. It also provides a more comfortable experience for both patient and healthcare professional.
