Siemens Clinitek Status+ urine analyzer
Product information about the Siemens Clinitek Status+ urine analyzer
The Clinitek Status+ analyzer is a portable instrument for reading Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics urine strips and Clinitest immunoassay cassettes. No special training is required to use this instrument. Various Siemens urine strips (e.g. Multistix 10SG) can be used with the analyzer, as well as the Clinitest hCG pregnancy test.
Setting up the Siemens Clinitek Status+ urine analyzer
The analyzer can be configured as simple or advanced as desired. You simply insert a dipped urine strip or a Clinitest cassette into the analyzer and the result is reported (this is called a Quick Test).
You also have the option to enter an Operator ID, the patient's name and a Patient ID. This extra information is reported with the research results (this is called a Full Test). The touch screen displays instructions and questions guide you through the analysis procedure. You can also enter information via the touch screen.
Detailed information about setting up the Clinitek Status+ can be found in the user manual
Use of the Siemens Clinitek Status+ urine analyzer
You do not need to do anything for calibration. The instrument performs a system test every time it is turned on. Then the instrument automatically calibrates each time an exam run is performed. The white calibration bar (on the test pad) provides NIST traceable calibration.
How does the Siemens Clinitek Status+ urine analyzer work?
Testing begins (in Quick Test mode) when Strip Test or Cassette Test is selected from the main menu. After touching the button, you are prompted to adjust the test table for a urine strip. Then touch the START key. You have 8 seconds to dip the test strip, dab the side of the strip and place the strip on the test table. The table is first partially retracted into the instrument for calibration, then fully retracted to read the test strip.
After touching the Cassette Test button, you are prompted to adjust the test table for a cassette. Then touch the START key. You have 8 seconds to draw the sample into a pipette and place it in the sample well of the cassette. The analyzer automatically calibrates and then retracts the table fully into the instrument, where the cassette is read.
In Full Test mode for a Strip Test or Cassette Test you will be prompted to enter an Operator ID, Patient Name and or Patient ID before running a test.
