Stainless Steel Grade 410/420
For medical instruments, only hardened stainless steels (410 / 420) are usually sufficient. These steel grades meet the requirements with regard to: durability/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, strength/stiffness and elasticity.
In the choice of material for a specific instrument, a distinction is also made between cutting and non-cutting instruments. As a rule, the following can be said: "For cutting instruments, use is made of harder steel to increase durability/wear resistance. For non-cutting instruments, steel is often used that is more elastic. Especially with tweezers, elasticity is an essential property" .
Within the production, only high-quality materials are used that are tailored to the specific requirements of a particular instrument. The steel used has been tested for composition/alloy through various laboratory tests.
