Early detection of prostate cancer using a rapid test
The PSA rapid test from Cleartest is a blood test that can be used to determine the level of PSA (prostate-specific antigen) in the blood. PSA is a protein that only occurs in prostate tissue and can be detected in small amounts in the blood. The Cleartest PSA is often used for the early detection of prostate tumors and is used to detect the prostate-specific antigen.
PSA rapid tests used when prostate cancer is suspected
An elevated PSA value can provide early indications of prostate cancer and help prevent deaths from prostate cancer. The PSA rapid test can also provide information about whether other benign prostate diseases are present, such as prostate enlargement or prostate inflammation.
Deviations in the PSA value in men
The normal PSA value in a healthy man is between 0.1 ng/ml and 2.6 ng/ml. PSA values of 3 to 10 ng/ml are considered a "gray area", while values above 10 ng/ml are a strong sign of prostate cancer. Men with a value between 3 and 10 ng/ml should undergo a further prostate examination despite the value. The Cleartest PSA is a valuable tool available for diagnosing early-stage prostate cancer.
Cleartest PSA rapid test for medical professionals
The CLEARTEST PSA is a semi-quantitative rapid test for the in vitro determination of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in human whole blood, serum or plasma.
The human prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a glycoprotein that is mainly produced in the male prostate gland. The classic examination of the prostate by palpation is supplemented by the determination of the PSA value for early detection. The normal PSA value in healthy men is in the range of 0.1 - 2.6 ng/ml.
Increased serum PSA concentrations occur in patients with prostate cancer, benign prostatic hypertrophy or in inflammatory situations (prostatitis) in the surrounding tissue. In healthy men, men with non-prostatic carcinomas, no significant changes in the PSA value can be detected. Measuring PSA concentration can therefore be a safe tool for monitoring patients with prostate cancer, demonstrating the effectiveness of surgical or oncological therapies, and for early detection of prostate diseases.
