In the early stages, gastrointestinal\r\nproblems such as colon cancer, ulcers, polyps, colitis, diverticulitis and\r\nfissures may not show any visible symptoms, but only occult blood.\r\nThe FOB Rapid Test Cassette is a rapid test for the\r\nqualitative detection of low levels of Fecal Occult Blood. The test uses a dual antibody sandwich assay to selectively detect Fecal Occult Blood at 50 ng\/mL or higher, or 6 μg\/g feces.\r\nIn addition, unlike guaiac tests, the accuracy of the test is not affected by the patients' diet.\r\nThe FOB Rapid Test Cassette (Feces) is a qualitative, lateral flow\r\nimmunoassay for the detection of Human Occult Blood in feces.\r\nThe membrane is pre-coated with anti-hemoglobin antibody on the\r\ntest line zone of the test. During testing, the sample reacts with the\r\nparticle coated with anti-hemoglobin antibody. The mixture\r\nmigrates chromatographically upward across the membrane by capillary\r\naction to react with the anti-hemoglobin antibody on the membrane and\r\ngenerate a colored line. The presence of this\r\ncolored line in the test line zone indicates a positive result, while its\r\nabsence indicates a negative result.
