FAQ use Mission Cholesterol 3-in-1 meter
What happens if the meter gives an E-5 error?
- There is not enough blood to perform a good measurement
- Possible cause: the pipette with blood is angled down instead of straight when applying the blood to the strip, causing air to get between the blood in the pipette
- Solution: Repeat the test with a refilled new pipette and a new strip
Why does the strip not absorb the blood completely?
- Sometimes the blood remains as a kind of ‘’bell’’ lie on the strip and it is not sucked in
- Possible cause: the blood was pressed out of the pipette too quickly/hard
- Solution: fill a new pipette and gradually squeeze the bead of the pipette
Why does the pipette not absorb blood?
- Possible cause: the air hole of the pipette (hole is in the ball) is held closed with the finger
- Solution: Try filling the pipette again without putting your finger on the air hole
Why does the meter say that the strip has expired when it should still be good according to the box?
- That shouldn't be possible. Out-of-date strips should be usable until the date stated on the packaging
- Possible cause: Meter date and time are not set correctly
- Solution: set the date of the meter correctly and repeat the measurement with the same strip (if there was no blood on it yet) or a new strip (if there was already blood on the strip)
What does an E-4 error mean?
- The batteries are too empty to perform a measurement
- Solution: Put 4 new AAA alkaline batteries (1.5V) in the meter. Note: When replacing batteries, turn the meter off and check the meter's date and time settings after replacement
