Which Catheters do you use when you need them
An indwelling catheter is a thin tube that is inserted into the bladder through the urethra. To prevent the catheter from slipping out of the bladder, there is a balloon at the end that is filled with water. The catheter allows the urine to drain into a collection bag. There are also disposable catheters. The urine can come out when the catheter is in the bladder, immediately after that you remove the catheter. We have various insertion sets for indwelling catheters. There are also syringes with sterile water to inject into the balloon of the indwelling catheter. The diameter of a catheter is expressed in Charrière. The Charrière is a unit of measurement for small diameters and denoted by 'Ch'. The value of one Ch is ⅓ mm. Or vice versa: 1 mm = 3 Ch.
Which reception materials can you use
There are two types of collection bags, a (small) day bag and a (large) night bag. A small collection bag can be attached to the end of the catheter during the day. You can use this bag with attach straps to your thigh. There are also thigh pocket holders. For the night there is a larger collection bag with a long connection hose. You can attach this collection bag to the bed using the hanging rack. You must make sure that it hangs lower than the bladder to ensure that the urine drains properly. To empty the collection bag, open the tap and let the urine flow into the toilet. You can use the collection bags for 7 days. replace the collection bag if it becomes damaged, difficult to empty or becomes uncomfortable to wear.
