Why do I use skin glue
For suturing or closing wounds on the skin, you can use skin glue (medical glue or tissue glue). You apply the liquid adhesive to the edges of a wound to hold the wound together and promote healing. Skin glue therefore has several advantages over traditional sutures. In the first place, scar formation is reduced. Second, it simplifies the procedure. And thirdly, the discomfort for the patient is reduced. If there are superficial cuts, lacerations or incisions that are not very deep, you can use the wound adhesive. It is important to note that hide glue is not suitable for all types of wounds. Deep wounds, wounds that are under tension or wounds that are infected therefore require other forms of treatment, such as stitches or adhesive plasters.
What types of hide glue are there
With us you can choose from different types of adhesive. All types are packed sterile per ampoule. The difference is in the application of the glue. For example, the Dermabond Mini skin glue is equipped with a special applicator and you have to break the ampoule and with the Histoacryl skin glue you have to unscrew the ampoule. You can choose blue, purple or transparent skin glue. We sell ampoules that go per piece, per 5, per 10 or per 25 pieces.
Why do I use adhesive strips
Section strips are made from a hypoallergenic adhesive that is safe for use on the skin. The strips are easily applied to the skin and are flexible. The wound edges are held together in this way. This helps to reduce tension on the wound and promotes faster healing. The use of adhesive strips is suitable for superficial wounds with clean, straight edges that are not under much tension. They are often useful for minor cuts, scrapes, or lacerations. It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions when applying the adhesive strips and regularly check the wound and strips for signs of infection or loosening.
Please note that adhesive strips are not suitable for all types of wounds. Deeper or more complicated wounds may require stitches or other forms of medical treatment.
