What do you use Ultrasound gel for

Ultrasound gel is a gel-like substance that you can use in medical ultrasound procedures. You apply it to the skin of the area to be examined before using an ultrasound machine. The gel helps conduct sound waves between the transducer (the device that sends and receives the sound waves) and the skin. This allows the sound waves to move more easily through the body tissue and the resulting images become clearer and more detailed. The gel is usually colorless and watery in texture, and it is designed not to irritate or damage with prolonged contact with the skin. After the ultrasound examination, the gel can usually be simply wiped off the skin. For people with an unknown allergy, you can use ultrasonic gel from gel without methylsothiazolinone.
